Sushi Jiro has replaced the former Sushi Box Diner in Cook Street Village.

perhaps it's a re-listing or the first time on mls as the listing is only a few days old.

Definitely a re-listing if it shows as new.

It does, hence why it hasn't sold.

I can't imagine acquiring a franchise and outfitting a unit is any more costlier than $450,000 to $650,000.

Yeah, the $900k would be for outfitting a stand-alone building like you’d find at a shopping centre. The Douglas Street location just modernized a former restaurant space.

Bubby Rose's opened their new place on Menzies St. in James Bay this week.

Looking good, and they have both inside and outside seating. Apparently they are gearing up to more food choices than what their Cook St Village location offers.

Had breakfast yesterday at the Village on Cook St. Mastercard still thinks it’s Bubby Roses.

Weird.

Stoked to see that Tractor is coming to Victoria, in the old Sam’s Deli. Healthy, beautiful, quick food. Just too bad it’s in the tourist zone, even with the online ordering and pickup not sure I want to fight the crowds in the summer.

That’s pretty cool. Places like this are what Victoria needs.

That is cool! You can filter their menu by your dietary preference. And there are actually more than a few items I can eat which is very rare.

As Zoomer said, too bad it will be downtown in the tourist zone. I likely would never go to that location.

It’s out of sight/out of mind for locals in a way, but it’ll develop a following as long as prices are right.

From October to March that part of government street is not so busy with tourists. Just jump on your bike and take the designated bike Lanes.

^^ as we see minimum wages continue to rise, this is the future of food service. Fine dining and casual fine dining will have its place but we should expect to see more and more of this sort of service.

If ferries ever gets off its ass and fixes their Fulford ferry terminal problems, we are planning to move to a somewhat similar model.

One place on salt spring already has, due to (amongst other reasons) a lack of staff.

:(
I guess I'll be eating at home more often. One of the main reasons I like to dine out is table service.
