Please tell me I'm far from the only one who'd like to be mentored by Ismo07, bon vivant, and food and beverage insider?

My ONLY issue is, I'm a long time listener, first time caller', type of thing and since l joined, I haven't heard Ismo07's thoughts on what's up, what's down, what's in, what's out, thoughts on food and beverage downtown yet! It's why l joined!

Mike, can you block Ismo's mother from posting?

Remind me, what did Ismo say that was so insightful?

I could understand a new forumer going on about this board's hilarious puns and stuff like that. And I could understand a new forumer going on about Mike K.'s unfounded rumours and stuff like that. But I thought Ismo's file was parking?

Anyway, kudos to Ismo. It would seem even the drier topics can become delightfully interesting when VV's engaging raconteurs are driving the conversation.

Maybe LJ and Nparker could take a lesson from this. No offense, just sayin'.

You mean he doesn’t give you all free parking, too? The VV discount, 100%.

I served with Ismo. I knew Ismo. Ismo was a friend of mine. Forumer, you're no Ismo.

Seriously though, I understand why Ismo's posts stand out. It's the meter.

Ismo's work emphasizes things like validation and grace. But you have to look between the lines. Otherwise he'll give you the boot.

Let’s always be nice to others.

Ismo can take a joke, I’m sure, but it can be a little unnerving when an anonymous fan pops up.

Please remember to be respectful.

I can take the hint. I'll let you have the weekend to yourself.

Kind of apropos of nothing but, l regret never going into the Cherry Bank Hotel while it was still around. Did anyone on here? Ever won money betting on the horses there? Food any good? Steak wasn't horse meat hopefully?

Only if your horse finished outside of the money.

Cherry Bank was huge! I only saw ever saw it from the back parking lot. Clearly l should have checked it out from the front on xyz Terrace, can't think of the name of it at the moment.

Were Foody Goody still open on Government, and asked between going there for dinner, or to Marilena instead, I'd pick Foody Goody. Would l have the place to myself like the guy who used to go to Monty's, sit in the front row, with a book to read between shows, or would l have some company? $10 all you can eat lunch back in the '90's.

Foody Goody. To quote Nelson from the Simpsons, I can think of at least two things wrong with that title.

Victoria ‘take-and-bake’ concept kitchen sees big expansion

Refire offering different ways for customers to buy prepared meals

https://www.vicnews....-big-expansion/

Mrs A arrived home from the work a couple of weeks ago having pit-stopped first at the downtown Refire location - their food options are either "fresh" or frozen, we've tried both and maybe 30% of the total offerings on their menu having been somewhat hooked by the excellent fare these guys produce.

The food quality is excellent and everything I've tried now, after we've made 3 visits to this outfit including the one closest to us at Admiral's Walk, is super tasty.

Of course prices are commensurate with said quality/superior dish output. but I think they've got a winning formula here. High recommendation, try it at least once. You'll love the outstanding food - pulled pork mac and cheese, tortellini and chorizo sausage soup, and meatballs in meat & cheese sauce all to die for, to name just a few of our favorites -  just be prepared to pay for it. Not cheap but very very tasty. And most items come in small, regular and 'family' sizes....
