Makes me want to create a four tower development of 13 story buildings with 413 units with an address of 413 or maybe 1304.

Sometimes I really worry that this sort of pandering will lead to 20 story buildings where the top floor is labled 98 due to over-sensative developers fearing they have to bow to every posible numerical superstision known to man. I think the sort of person who'd take these things seriously would know if they were really on the 4th floor or 14th floor or 44th floor regardless of what the elevator button says. Then again anyone that stupid probably can't even count what actual story they are on.

Well with 413 the 4 wouldn't be considered as bad, as it only really counts/or makes sense or something like that if the 4 is the last digit. Maybe we should just add extra numbers of popular floors like maybe the 8th floor and the 8th floor number 8, and I've always liked the 7th so we could have the 7th part 7 as well. Think of it we could easily fit many more floors under the 14 (they need to change that limit it'll be the death of the city, seeing as it ends with a four) storey limit, but since height is the other part of the limit, not sure how you can get around it. Someone should bring up the unlucky number of the residential height limit!

If we gave floors letters instead of numbers we could placate superstitious idiots.

You could say I live on the Gth floor and my friend lives on the Fst and the restaurant's on the Mteenth.

I like the letters idea, but the letters should be randomly assigned to each floor so there's no implied hierarchy (which could easily be translated back into numerical equivalents).

In other words, the lowest floor should be the Rrd floor, followed by the Jth floor, and so on...

Every building would be different, of course.

^That's very non-elitist, too. Eliminates the stigma of lower floors.

Why not live on ∏ or ∑ or Ω?

Taking it a bit further, perhaps the names of the floors should be impossible to pronounce?

I'm also keen on the idea of a single story that contains 14 mezzanine levels. I think that just might be the solution to the highrise controversy that we've all been overlooking.

Corporate branding is the answer.

We should use the condo name generator to name each floor. It may overload the system, but we can always upgrade the system. Think of it, I live on the Juliet floor of the Corazon. Or I live on the living Shang-gri-la floor of View Towers. BTW I'm pretty sure the Rth floor would be the top floor.

See what happens when the city's best and brightest put their heads together? A major corporation would spend a fortune on consulting reports half as brilliant as what we have come up with. And what do we charge? We offer it to the development community gratis.
