Looks like the new Starbucks inside the DoubleTree is nearly set to open. Looks great.

Starbucks is opening a new location in the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel downtown on Monday.

At 2,100 square feet and 104 seats, the open-floor concept is different than the usual Starbucks and is designed for meeting in groups.

DoubleTree is at 777 Douglas St., and the Starbucks can be accessed from Burdett Street.

what if nobody goes?  i mean is there a chance they miscalculated and this space can only really support a 15-seat coffee shop?

The hotel business alone will likely sustain it.  Then there are the 4 large condos nearby.

If you look at the team behind this, it’s extremely unlikely they have miscalculated anything.

Like a Starbucks in a hotel I have a phobia about hotel room coffee makers and I have a hard time moving before a cup of coffee. Stayed in one place a couple years ago when I checked in it had a Starbucks in/next to the lobby next day they closed the location. Was for the best, nice little coffee shop couple doors down probably wouldn’t have gone otherwise.

I don’t think so.

$400,000

A great opportunity to get into a Canadian franchise in a high traffic and profitable location. This outstanding location has been operated completely and totally hands-off by the current owner and has full staff in place. The cafe's manager runs the business with only 20 hrs of onsite supervision. An incredible opportunity for a more hands-on owner to significantly increase the profitability of the operation instantly.

This location is unique from other cafes in the city as it has a built-in customer base and catering opportunities. The cafe is well set up and has systems in place to run it effectively without oversight and the predictable nature of the customer base provides management with easier scheduling. The space has been well cared for and does not require any equipment upgrades and is a truly turn-key operation. Full transition training is available as well as franchise support. NDA required for further details.

Great Opportunity to purchase a well established, centrally located turnkey business-Yates Coffee Bar. The cafe/dessert shop has been offering locally roasted coffee, fresh baked goods, a wide array of cakes and desserts to local residents and tourists. The business has been growing with current owners investing in improvements, increasing walk-in takeaways and collaboration with various online delivery platforms. Take full advantage of its established clientele, great street presence and flexible lease terms, grow your own business today.

Do we at all track these sales? Do we have any sense of how they stagger relative to closures or new spaces for lease?

Know it all.

Nice looking space in the new Starbucks. Not set up yet is the large, open area (perhaps able to be booked) overlooking Humbolt St.

You'll be lucky to get a good coffee, nevermind alcohol.

It looks very white and glaring. Now if it looked like Cafe Central in Vienna, I may consider it for a hot chocolate, but Starbucks coffee is very bitter.

Try their blonde roast (drip + espresso) - SO much less bitter!

The Indigo Books chain announced today that it is partnering with Good Earth to open cafes inside select Indigo stores.  It seems likely that the former Starbucks inside Indigo Mayfair will be converted to a Good Earth location.
