That widescraper by the roundhouse looks terrible. And just when I thought we might have learned something from Bayview 1 and 2.

Apparently the City is obsessed with red brick...

For good reason. There were red brick buildings in old Victoria. Yes, there were also a ton of buildings that were not red brick, but so ******' what?

The first phase of Roundhouse will be a hotel, btw.

"Bayview One and the Promontory are now complete, and the retail and cultural precinct, The Roundhouse, is currently under construction"

I don't see any "under construction" ?? Do I need a trip to the Optometrist?

No, you just need special glasses. Do you know the movie "They Live"? That sort of thing.

Like a 17-storey Promontory, more or less.

The Roundhouse Marketplace will look like a 17-storey Promontory?

^ I think the Lot 5 property is set to start this summer along with the Marketplace. Certainly wouldn't hurt to have another 17 floors of customers nearby.

Is Lot 5 being built by an outside developer?

Yes, but the name has not been publicly revealed yet although Gary is implying it's Bosa, which is most likely is.

Looks like lot #5 is still registered to Bayview Properties Ltd. so nothing is official yet.

Where will everyone park when this building gets going? I've had to be creative last few days parking in the gravel parking lot.

Yes they are.  We have two cars and only one parking spot at our unit at the Bayview.  Should have rented our Promontory unit without parking and used its parking spot for our second car :)

Always rent the parking seperstely :)

Sounds like street parking will be a problem with another tower. It always is with every condo despite the City's position that less parking is a "perk" in exchange for cycling storage or whatnot. I have yet to come across a modern condo that didn't have a parking problem.

As I mentioned on the Roundhouse thread, the parking issue was exacerbated by the need to clear the P3 and P4 Promontory parking levels for cleaning in the morning.

Seems like an easy fix. Just put 2 hour limit parking on all the streets around the building and the city will have an easy revenue source. People shouldn't buy without buying enough space for their stuff.

No one buys a place with one living room but owns 4 couches and expects there to be free storage for the extra three. They sell them or put them in storage. Same should go for parking a car.
