Vancouver-based Bosa Properties has confirmed a rumour first aired several months ago hinting at the company developing the third and final tower atop the Saghalie district of Bayview Place, a multi-phased redevelopment of former rail yard and industrial land at Tyee and Esquimalt roads in Vic West.

 

Several years ago Bosa purchased development rights from Bayview Place developer Focus Equities to build the 21-storey, 177 unit Promontory condo tower that was completed in 2014. With only a handful of units remaining at the Promontory, Bosa is clearly bullish on the Victoria market and expects to start construction next year on the 17-storey, 140 unit condo development (with a low-rise component), currently referred to as "Lot 5" and situated across the street from it's 21-storey counterpart. The completed stuff (Duet, Era, Promontory, 200 Douglas, Union, etc.) is either sold out or close to sold out.  There will be a bit of a void in terms of the queued stuff coming to completion.  Escher will be the first.

Very interested in this project.

 

The article above says: "...completion of the project scheduled for 2019."

But a different article at Citified has the Project Completion date as 2017.

2019.

 

They "hope" to start construction in early 2016.  Promontory started blasting in Feb. 2012 and it took 2 1/2 years before we could move in.  I expect they'll be more efficient this time around.  Take a look at the massive Promontory thread here to see what's involved - start to finish.

Yes, 2019. The 2015-2017 date was from a period of time when it was believed the project would be starting this year and wrapping up prior to 2018.

Thanks, Gary and Mike. I thought 2017 was too good to be true.

 

And Gary, I have followed the Promontory discussion from several years ago, when we still lived in Sechelt. It was a lot of fun to eavesdrop on all the excitement in the last few months of the build, as your move-in dates got closer.

I've never seen such online engagement about a development. That's what has us keen to follow this new Bayview project.

Also, fingers crossed that they roll out the same great product mix they had at the Promontory (studios, one beds, two bed 1 bath, two bed two bath, etc...)

Yes, the 17-storey tower and a five storey lowrise.

 

The red imprint of the tower appears to show it far shorter than 17-floors. It looks to be about 11 or so.

Encore's public registration has begun...

 

I registered at the Encore site and as a Promontory resident received an email that included some information on the next marketing steps.  Kelley and Ryan have transitioned as sales managers on the Encore project.

Over the coming days the Public Registration phase of our sales launch will begin in earnest, with advertisements throughout the Victoria area. Once this is complete, we will open the doors for the Preview Phase towards the end of the month.

Our current plans see us opening our sales centre for previews near the end of August, with sales commencing towards the end of September.
