All show. If Musk made money as a result of his tweets then he might get fined a few bucks but otherwise this is all about making it appears as though the SEC actually does something.

The electric carmaker said in a statement Friday that it complied with a "voluntary request for documents" from the Department of Justice about Tesla's "public guidance" about Model 3 production. Tesla made the statement after a Wall Street Journal report said the FBI is looking into whether Tesla (TSLA) misled investors about production of its Model 3 sedan, which has suffered a string of delays and other issues as the startup sought to bring the car to market. https://www.cnn.com/...robe/index.html

Elon Musk claims new baby with Grimes is named ‘X Æ A-12’
https://globalnews.c...imes-baby-name/
i guess if your girlfriend's name is "grimes" the baby name does not seem so bad.
Elon Musk is either bad at typing, bad at cracking jokes or terrible at choosing baby names after announcing that his newborn son with Grimes will be called “X Æ A-12.”
The eccentric billionaire announced last week that he would “own no house” and lost billions of dollars by tweeting about Tesla’s stock, so it could really be any combination of those possibilities at this point.

It appears the dispute between Tesla and San Francisco Bay Area authorities over the reopening of a factory in the face of shutdown orders is coming to an end.
The Alameda County Public Health Department announced on Twitter early Wednesday that the Fremont, California, plant will be able to go beyond basic operations this week and start making vehicles this coming Monday — as long as it delivers on the worker safety precautions that it agreed to.
It wasn't clear from a press release whether Tesla would face any punishment for reopening Monday in defiance of county orders. Messages were left early Wednesday seeking comment from health officials and Tesla.
The release said Fremont police would verify whether Tesla was holding up its part of the agreement.
The release says that public health indicators have to remain stable or improve for the factory to stay open.
“We will be working with the Fremont PD to verify Tesla is adhering to physical distancing and that agreed upon health and safety measures are in place for the safety of their workers as they prepare for full production,” the release said.
Tesla’s factory reopened Monday with Musk practically daring local authorities to arrest him and operations apparently continued into Tuesday. The company met a Monday deadline to submit a site-specific plan to protect worker safety.

The best angle I heard on this latest stunt (the reopening against public health orders) is that Musk is aligning TESLA with a new customer base... the right-wing anti-lockdown protestor crowd- just in time for the Cybertruck. It's kindof the perfect market for a bulletproof truck, no?

He seems to have a very special talent for:
1) knowing what people will want, before they know it themselves;
2) being able to deliver prototypes and products of these prophetic ideas; and
3) making money doing it.
Often you'll meet people who have 1 of 3 of those talents. Rarely will someone has 2 out of 3. He's a treasure, that's for sure.
Point #1 above is why I'm willing to bet money that MikeK will be singing the praises of the Cybertruck as the best vehicle ever built in about 10 years time.
