Information, Additional Survivors Sought After Masseur Charged With Sexual Assault

Date: Wednesday, June 2, 2021 - File: #21-16673

Victoria, BC – Detectives with VicPD’s Special Victims Unit are seeking additional information, including additional survivors, after a Victoria masseur was charged with sexual assault.

Ajesh Jacob, a 35-year-old Victoria man, has been charged with one count of sexual assault stemming from an incident at a massage and reflexology business in the 700-block of Fort Street. Ajesh Jacob, who goes by the name “Sam”, was employed as a masseur at that location at the time of the incident.

SVU detectives are currently investigating several additional allegations of sexualized violence involving Ajesh Jacob. Investigators believe there may be additional survivors who have yet to speak with police.

SVU detectives began their investigation into Ajesh Jacob in late March of 2021 after a survivor came forward with allegations of sexual assault. On May 13th , SVU detectives arrested Ajesh Jacob for sexual assault as a result of that investigation. Ajesh Jacob has since been charged with one count of sexual assault, and has been released on several conditions including not to perform massage services on any person.

Since that time, additional survivors have come forward to report that they were sexually assaulted by Ajesh Jacob.

This file remains under investigation.

Special Victims Unit investigators want survivors of sexualized violence to know that we believe you. There are many ways to report sexualized violence in addition to calling our non-emergency line. You can report sexualized violence through your family doctor, a counsellor or the Victoria Sexual Assault Centre. The Victoria Sexual Assault Centre also supports survivors directly and can assist you if you choose to report a sexual assault to police. Please visit www.vsac.ca for more information.

If you have information about Ajesh Jacob and have not yet spoken to officers you are asked to call the VicPD Report Desk at (250) 995-7654 extension 1. To report what you know anonymously, please call Greater Victoria Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

This was the Big Feet spa next to Ali Baba pizza just west of Blanshard. I don't know why that aspect is hush hush, especially as it appears at least one other employee was complicit by pressuring the victim to ignore the incident.

Fight led to death of pedestrian in Saanich; major crime unit investigating

June 2, 2021

What was initially reported as a fatal crash with a pedestrian near Victoria on Tuesday may actually be a serious crime.

Vancouver Island’s major crime unit is now investigating the death on Douglas Street near the Uptown shopping centre.

"Two gentlemen had been fighting,"  "The other gentlemen pushed the other fellow into traffic where the garbage truck unfortunately struck him."

They could have expanded it by explaining a bit more about what Elliott did at City Hall. I'm sure reporters at the TC knew him. Elliott had a variety of roles, ranging from running errands for the mayor's office to coordinating intra-governmental correspondence, sort of a high-ranking jack-of-all-trades.

Geez, the TC usually known for its dogged, no stone unturned reporting on City Hall... can't understand it...

Could it be the same guy who did donuts in the James Bay park a few weeks ago?
And of course, he was immediately released...

Well at least City Hall admitted they knew about the charges prior to sentencing. Last week I was accused of "making things up" when I suggested that.

I find it strange that the City won't comment on whether he is still employed or not. I don't think it is violating anyone's privacy to state whether they have a job.

Fentanyl, Methamphetamine, Cocaine, And Cash Seized After Community Services Division Operation

Date: Thursday, June 3, 2020 - File: #21-21384

Victoria, BC – VicPD Community Services Division (CSD) officers arrested two men and seized fentanyl, methamphetamine, cocaine and cash after an investigation into drug trafficking in Victoria.

In late May, CSD officers began an investigation into drug traffickers in Victoria with ties to crime groups on the lower mainland. On May 31st, CSD officers arrested two men at a hotel in the 3200-block of Maple Street in Saanich. With the assistance of Saanich Police, CSD officers subsequently executed a search warrant on the hotel suite associated to these men and located quantities of fentanyl, methamphetamine, and cocaine consistent with a drug trafficking operation. The men were also found to be in possession of over $3,000 in cash, believed to be proceeds of crime. In total, officers seized approximately one kilogram of controlled substances.

A photograph of the seized items is available below.

The suspects, a 40-year-old Vancouver man and a 35-year-old Vancouver man, were released from custody pending further investigation. Officers will be recommending charges related to drug trafficking.

This file remains under investigation.

If you have information about this incident, please call the VicPD Report Desk at (250) 995-7654 extension 1. To report what you know anonymously, please call Greater Victoria Crime Stoppers 1-800-222-8477.

Is inflow of drug dealers a factor in the lack of housing here?

Theft from Auto Suspect Caught

Date: June 4, 2021 - File: #21-11837

An arrest was made Tuesday, June 1st, 2021 of a prolific criminal who Saanich Police believe was responsible for a rash of thefts from vehicles over the past several weeks, primarily in the north area of Saanich.

Officers with the Street Crime Unit were able to locate and arrest a 42-year-old man on Tuesday that was well known to them for a lengthy history of targeting unlocked vehicles in the region. The suspect would steal items such as cash, wallets, purses, jewellery and credit cards, of which he would then make fraudulent purchases at various stores. Over the course of an evening, it would not be uncommon for him to enter 80-100 vehicles looking for these items. A search warrant was conducted on his residence in Esquimalt the same day as his arrest, which yielded recovered stolen items from several of these thefts from vehicles in Saanich, and some as well in the Esquimalt and Westshore area.

“We understand that this suspect targeted specific areas of Saanich due to his previous years of knowledge that these areas were known to have a combination of more unlocked vehicles and items of value left inside overnight than other areas in our area. While officers with our Street Crime Unit continue to investigate the property-related offences committed in our community, our crime prevention efforts are also increasing to help remind residents of the role that they play in locking out auto crime.”

Public Information and Communications Officer

never saw anything in earlier reports to indicate she was an outreach worker.  maybe she was hired with "lived experience"?
