I admire the ingenuity, and historical homage the upcycling of the former JSB railing represents in this location. Seeing what has been done here makes me wish for some sort of cohesive railing design along as much of the (so-called) David Foster Harbour Pathway as possible. Methinks, in an ideal world, the entire perimeter of the walkway (where railings are necessary) would apply the classic JSB aesthetic, using new materials as needed to reproduce the historic look.

Nobody master-planned this stretch of downtown waterfront (thank goodness), and yet therefore look at how well the different pieces are coming together.

 

I'm going to go out on a limb and say Northern Junk very easily coulda/shoulda been nearing completion by now.

Yes, the "unplanned" waterfront here makes the walk more worthwhile, with interesting nooks and crannies for one to discover every corner. Hopefully this trend continues along the waterfront of Store Street properties all the way to Rock Bay in the future.
