As long as there is power to be gained from pandemic fear, it will never be over.

Now, Apple is telling suppliers that it wants to expand production in India and Southeast Asia, according to the Journal's anonymous sources. Apple did not immediately respond to Insider's request for comment.

Why don't they try repatriating manufacturing to North America instead?

I'm willing to pay more if need be.

As long as there is power to be gained from pandemic fear, it will never be over.

As long as power is freely given from pandemic fear, it will never be over.

The U.N. health agency’s director-general, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, told officials gathered in Geneva for opening of the WHO’s annual meeting that “declining testing and sequencing means we are blinding ourselves to the evolution of the virus.” He also noted that almost 1 billion people in lower-income countries still haven’t been vaccinated.

In a weekly report Thursday on the global situation, WHO said the number of new COVID-19 cases appears to have stabilized after weeks of decline since late March, while the overall number of weekly deaths dropped.

While there has been progress, with 60% of the world’s population vaccinated, “it’s not over anywhere until it’s over everywhere,” Tedros said.

“Reported cases are increasing in almost 70 countries in all regions, and this in a world in which testing rates have plummeted,” he added.

Reported deaths are rising in Africa, the continent with the lowest vaccination coverage, he said, and only 57 countries — almost all of them wealthy — have vaccinated 70% of their people.

While the world’s vaccine supply has improved, there is “insufficient political commitment to roll out vaccines” in some countries, gaps in “operational or financial capacity” in others, he said.

And of this 225/day what are the demographic and co-morbidity statistics?

As we move on for the time being, I am grateful for those still working on making the world a better place and removing the authority from health authorities....

I hope for the removal of authoritarianism from all aspects of our lives.

British Columbia health officials are reporting 42 new deaths linked to COVID-19 in their weekly update, while hospitalizations have fallen below 500 for the first time in weeks.

The number of COVID-19 patients in hospital was 473 on Thursday, according to the BC Centre of Disease Control’s public dashboard. That’s down from 540 people in hospital a week earlier. Of those patients, 42 were reported to be in critical care units.

...The number of COVID-19 patients in hospital was 473...

Is that COVID patients or patients with COVID? There's a world of difference.

Other jurisdictions would suggest it’s 50/50 roughly.

And of course, as I often state, those numbers on their own are practically meaningless without the accompanying demographic and comorbidity data.

Also like to know the vaccination rate of those deaths.

Canada is now a solo traveler on the international stage when it comes to travel mandates for planes and trains — measures which increasingly appear to be punitive rather than backed by any evidence or logic.
As of May 16, the European Union no longer mandates face masks for air travel. This follows the removal of the federal mask requirement on public transport in the United States, after a federal judge ruled such mandates are unlawful.

Better get your trucker hats out....

Mass vaccinations are not yet needed to combat rising cases of monkeypox in Canada, a top health official said Thursday, but people should keep their distance from others to avoid catching the virus.

Deputy chief public health officer Dr. Howard Njoo said because the virus "doesn't discriminate" and can be spread through close contact with an infected person, people can avoid infection by "maintaining physical distance from people outside their homes."

You had to know this was coming. The powers that be don't like the masses to have freedom.

At least with Monkeypox it's fairly easy to tell who the anti-vaxxers are.
