Surely you mean 80?

On-street spaces on a short block between View and Yates?  You jest...

^ Would you actually quit and change jobs if you were asked to return to work

Yes 5%

No 95%

As I have said all along, many people are hoping that their current 'work' routine can continue unabated but every day more and more employers are suggesting that staff will be called back to the office.

Some people have planned their lives like they will work from home forever. My employer always stated these were temporary measures while there is a state of emergency. Once BC lifts the state of emergency, people should expect to transition back to the office.

there is no doubt that many companies are letting more people WFH at least part of the week.

we will just see how it all plays out.  it'll only take a drop of 10 or 15% to do serious damage to downtowns and business districts.  and i think it'll be higher than 10 or 15%.

^ I said this previously but the company my partner works for has hired about 20 people since covid started. None have been from Victoria. Before covid all new employees lived here.

I think there is a difference then between those who were working in an office before covid and companies moving to remote work forces out of necessity.

That’s why we need to get building. Downtown will need every single resident of Harris Green Village.

Trudeau has shut the door on borders re-opening until fall. Any hope of at least a partial tourist season in Victoria seems to be done.

The U.S. border is unlikely to be completely reopened until 75% of Canadians are fully vaccinated, Canada’s border chief said on Sunday in comments likely to fuel mounting impatience in both countries at the restrictions.

That’s going to be a feat. I take fall to mean mid-to-late October or November, not September.

I still think it is nonsense to not let fully vaccinated people cross the border with no restrictions.

You can fly into Canada from anywhere in the states and don't have to be fully vaccinated, you can fly into the states from Canada with no quarantine.

I believe there is a news conference tomorrow where they will announce fully vaccinated returning Canadians will not have to quarantine, why they can't do the same for every country is beyond me.

Second doses are being administered to approx 1% of the population every day. We're less than two months away from achieving 75%.

Let's just get to 50% before we matter of factly forecast uptake rates from 16% to 75%.

I (we) have been let down so many times over the last 18 months that I don't want to get my hopes up about anything any more, and would rather be surprised than disappointed.

Just an fyi folks, I was scheduled for my 2nd shot on the 28th at the Conference Centre and my wife was July 10th.

I went online and hit the reschedule button and put in Sidney as the preferred location and have booked for both of us this Thursday.

Lots of space and times open out there and really, it takes about as long to drive there as it does to travel downtown nowadays....

The only caveat being that you don't want to bump up your second shot too much. 4-5 weeks is optimum from what I read (sorry Dr. BH)
