Can someone explain to me why the Rickroll became a thing?
Back then it was permissible to be a white, successful performer and apparently teen women thought he was cute.

Rickrolling started with **rn, a person would click on what they thought was a hot **rn link, and instead be taken to a vapid rendition of a artistically-sad pop song, as performed by a one-hit-wonder who most true music aficionados despised with a hot passion for his artistically empty performances.
The perpetrator simply thought it was funny, a humorous, online undertaking on the still nascent internet.
After starting with **rn, it then became so well known that it was the first widely applied online "prank" used on any subject matter.
It was, in many ways, the very first example of something becoming "viral" on the internet.
After a few years, it was so widely known it simply became ubiquitous ... and continues (albeit to a far lesser degree) to be a "thing" today.

I find the modern music that appeals to me all has a retro feel to it and that song has a little Pat Benetar "Love is a Battlefield" feel to it. The drumbeat, synths, it's got 1982 written all over it.

Before I knew that "Blinding Lights" was by a contemporary singer, I was sure it was an 80s tune that I had somehow missed in my youth.

The video definitely has Michael Jackson vibes.
And smoking.
And that floating effect with wires that was all the rage back then.
Know it all.

I have purchased tickets to see David Sedaris at the Royal Theatre on November 6, 2021. Fingers-crossed this takes place as scheduled. DS is hilarious, especially for anyone who has ever had a family.

Lot of the headlines seem to point out Hooked on a Feeling but I remember for Raindrops Keep Fallin' on My Head.

He also performed two very well attended shows at the Royal Theatre in 2008.
