But it's in Saanich, not Victoria.

They’ve been doing a lot of work on the new Papa John’s on Fort Street.

Sure is taking awhile. Didn't they start Papa Johns before they started Popeye's?

So as fast as they can make the pizzas they are being eaten.

Deer and Dough bakery has opened on Fairfield in the former cottage Bakery space; it appears they might be sharing some space with Martha’s Delectables?

Matt might find this interesting:

Beckta, a storied upscale restaurant in downtown Ottawa, was buzzing one recent day — but it wasn't because of diners. The second-floor dining room was converted into an assembly line where staff were packing three-course dinners into paper boxes.

Dozens of these kits — with lamb shank confit, prawn lettuce wraps and espresso tarts, along with a wine pairing — stood ready to be delivered to diners' homes by one of the restaurant's in-house drivers.

Beckta began offering them in May 2020. They're such a big money-maker that the restaurant cancelled its lunch service and reduced opening hours. It now operates five days a week and is employing a record number of staff.

It's even made restaurant work, usually a gruelling affair with long hours, something with some work-life balance, owner Stephen Beckta said.

"For me personally now, my workday is probably eight to six most days," he said. "I used to do a lot of nights in the restaurant, so I get to see my family a lot more than I used to."

Went out for a walk tonight and was surprised to see Canoe Brewpub gone. The whole patio area has been taken down. There is a sign announcing a craft beer market in Spring 2022.
Sorry if I missed that one earlier on the thread.

Chef Sam Harris (Bishops/Stage/Courtney Room/Agrius/Boom + Batten) running the show. It’ll be a top shelf spot for sure, big bucks.

Thanks NParker and VW. Too bad, it was a nice Victoria specific place. CRAFT sounds nice but another chain makes me sad.

It baffles me how this city can sustain so many liquor primary establishments. You’d think there was a housing affordability and cost of living crisis in Victoria the way the issues are posited, but these pricey liquor establishments are hopping busy and everyone’s spending serious cash to hang out at them.

Know it all.
Citified.ca is Victoria's most comprehensive research resource for new-build homes and commercial spaces.

Being in an altered state of mind is pretty much the only way to cope with the situation these days. It's also the only way to explain the outcome of our local election results.

Bubby's in Quadra Village appears to have officially opened. Paper is gone from the windows, it's well lit inside, and there are OPEN signs up.
