The Centennial Square lights folks started their set up yesterday (and today, tomorrow, etc).

As an aside, the protest crowd (the one that caused the cancellation of the Legislative light up celebration) started their march by blocking the entire intersection of Douglas and Broughton at the 4:30-5:00pm rush hour last night, with about a 15 or so cops from multiple jurisdictions present to keep the peace.

We're repeatedly told that we're desperately short of available police to attend to serious crimes, but we seem to have a couple of dozen cops on hand to attend a rush hour, traffic blocking protest?

Protestors were your typical bunch of non-working folks dressed in cedar bows and yelling about the evils of society ... I mean continue to do your thing, but get off the bloody road!

Begs the question as to when protests and protestors begin to equate their marches with blocking rush hour traffic ... and why do the police and courts continue to allow them to undertake such dangerous actions?

I’d ask zoomer. He says it’s great for business.

There were THREE completely different protests going on at the Parliament Buildings yesterday at lunch!

The group in the middle of the intersection of Douglas and Broughton at 4:30pm had absolutely nothing to do with autism!

Traumatic event at our place tonight, sadly...

It appears all may not be well in our front yard Christmas display. Earlier when I drove Olivia home after we put up and decorated the tree Santa, Frosty and Peppa Pig were getting along famously and all was well. Or so it seemed as I drove away: yet not 25 minutes later I arrived back home to this horrific display seen in the second image below....

Peppa and Old Santa had indulged in a little too much liquid "cheer" while I was gone and to make matters worse Peppa then went for a roll with St Nick right there on the front lawn. I missed the actual act and the instant of shagging, but neighbors who witnessed the thing in its vulgar entirety assure me they are well and truly traumatized.

If I've told her once I told Peppa a thousand times that Christmas is *not* the season of "Hoe Hoe Hoe....!" But she never listens. She really IS a pig. That said Frosty seems to be enjoying the show.....

The businesses in Fulford have an annual “Merry Monday” the Monday before Christmas, nice fire going, hot chocolate, folk singer Valdy plays a bunch of tunes and a big sing along, usually about 100 people in the parking lot of the general store. Not sure how many years it’s been going, 15 at least.

This year tho, no go, which is a little bit sad.

Fulford and Beaver Point hall craft fairs are on this weekend, sure brings a lot of tourists over.

Little far away

I think that was because the tide was incredibly low. Never seen it that low.

Also not as many boats as usual - probably they had to cancel last year and might have lost some momentum. Wondering whether the same will be for the truck parade - less trucks.
